 The
American Hospitality Institute, Incorporated (AHI) was established in 1991
as a United States professional organization dedicated to the national and
international hospitality development, corporate management, culinary arts,
and to the training of hospitality career minded professionals and
apprentices. In 1999, the institute was incorporated and registered in the
United States, as an American hospitality non-profit organization. AHI is
currently branching out to various centers in the United States and
abroad, and is in the process of creating headquarters in Vienna, Berlin,
Dublin and Eastern Europe in collaboration with ABBA international social
services and educational committee of WACJ Fund originated by Dr. Esther
Cohen-Hamilton, Dr. Erica Soderholm and Dr. Giselle Muller-Anderson in
Berlin, Dr. Gisele von Guntunbergersen in Vienna and Mrs. Solange Berthier
in Paris.
The institute's major activities are centralized in Europe via its bureaus
in Rome and Verona in Italy and the Middle East in Cairo and Alexandria, in
Egypt. The AHI concept was originally created by Dr. John Chen, a noted
scholar while he was serving at the White House as a Member of the White
House Convention-Committee on Library Science and Information Service under
the administration of President Carter. It was a concept back then. In 1991,
the spirit of AHI came to life. Around 1994, AHI knew an international
expansion thanks to the splendid leadership of AHI new Chairman, his
excellency Senator Jean-Robert Sabalat, former secretary of state (Foreign
Minister) of Haiti while he was in exile in Washington, DC, USA. Today,
thanks to honorable efforts of several dedicated hospitality leaders,
scholars and researchers in various countries, Dr. Chen's remarkable
concept materialized. Under the leadership of our CEO and President, Dr.
Maximillien de Lafayette, an international authority on hospitality, food
and beverage, AHI reached a higher level of excellence in operations,
management, potentials development, learning and training.

The
Institute provides numerous services to its members, publishes and
distributes magazines, books, conducts and gathers research,
statistics and data on world hospitality and food services.
